Interlock Systems & Shutters: IPS-11 interlocked power supply

The IPS-11 is a comprehensive heavy duty interlocked power supply unit designed to operate in conjunction with the ICS-1 interlock control system. It is fully compliant with the stringent requirements of EN 954-1 'Safety Related Control Systems' and provides extensive options for interlocking laser facilities. Because these options are all available at the same time it enables the user to operate many lasers from the one control system and to interlock them in whichever way is best for each laser.

For instance, five lasers can be interlocked using their interlock connectors, another six using low voltage shutters while two large lasers are interlocked by drawing their power directly from the IPS-11 and there is still capacity to add more lasers.

IPS-11 Power Supply Specifications

The IPS-11 provides the following:

• 2 off Interlocked 30 A, single phase supplies for ring mains
  or
• I off Interlocked 30 A, three phase supply

• I off Interlocked 10 A, single phase supply for operation of illuminated warning signs
• 8 off Interlocked normally open, volt free contact pairs, for connection to laser interlock connectors
• 1 off Interlocked 24 V DC, 1 A supply for operation of laser shutters
• 1 off Interlocked 12 V DC, 5 A supply for operation of laser shutters
• 6 off Panel mounted sockets connected to above supply

When operated from the ICS-1 the IPS-11 gives true fail safe interlocking of lasers or other equipment, always maintaining its safety function (even in the event of multiple component failure) and offers all the functios of the ICS-1 including:

• Full fail safe override system
• Use of emergency stop switches
• Use of six door interlock switches
• Interlock key-switch
• Reset button
• Extensive LED indication
